Maharishi Vedic University in 3,000 Cities

To Offer Knowledge and Programs to Actualize
the Constitution of the Universe in Daily Life

 “This new knowledge will bring enlightenment
to every individual and invincibility to every nation”

(January 12, 2005) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi inaugurated the New Year by launching a global program to establish Maharishi Vedic Universities, Colleges, and Schools in 3,000 cities throughout the world. Maharishi said the new Vedic educational institutions will offer the knowledge and practical programs to actualize the Constitution of the Universe—the Unified Field—in the daily life of every individual and every nation to create permanent world peace.

“The Constitution of the Universe administers the universe with perfect order,” Maharishi said. “Total knowledge of the Constitution of the Universe will create and maintain world order so that every individual enjoys enlightenment and every nation enjoys invincibility. This new knowledge will create a new human race.”

Maharishi’s proclamation highlighted the grand, global January 12 celebrations to inaugurate 2005 as the “Year of the Golden Jubilee of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s Worldwide Movement.”

Maharishi presided over the ceremonies at the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland, with His Majesty Raja Raam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, along with His Majesty Raja Raam’s Administrators—Rajas—and Cabinet Ministers. The celebration featured the recitation of peace-promoting Vedic sounds—the fundamental frequencies of the Unified Field—by Vedic pandits in India.

Maharishi Vedic University to provide total knowledge
of the Constitution of the Universe through 18 faculties

Maharishi said the new Vedic universities, colleges, and schools will provide the total knowledge of the Constitution of the Universe through 18 faculties to make the knowledge of every area of life complete. “Great, secret details of the Constitution of the Universe—the Unified Field—to bring life into full accord with Natural Law are available only in the Vedic literature, not in the modern physical sciences,” Maharishi said.

These 18 faculties are (1) education, (2) health, (3) agriculture, (4) management—business and industry, (5) architecture, (6) law and order, (7) invincibility, (8) music and arts, (9) science and technology, (10) public administration, (11) astrology and astronomy, (12) language, (13) world peace/world politics, (14) economics, (15) computer science, (16) communication, (17) engineering, and (18) religion.

Maharishi emphasized that total knowledge of the Constitution of the Universe cannot be gained through lectures and discussions alone. “The Constitution of the Universe is beyond human intellect,” Maharishi said. “It is on the transcendental level of Being. It is unmanifest, eternal, beyond relativity, and not subject to change. Vedic literature provides the practical programs, including Transcendental Meditation, its advanced techniques, and Yogic Flying, for everyone to actualize the Constitution of the Universe in daily life.”

Maharishi said the 18 faculties taken together will actualize for every student the 18 fundamental areas of the Constitution of the Universe. “These 18 fundamental areas are contained in the Vedic literature and inscribed in human physiology—and have been discovered through scientific research by His Majesty Raja Raam,” Maharishi said. “Every week, every student will go through all these areas of knowledge for their theoretical and practical values. This is how the Constitution of the Universe will become a living reality in the daily life of everyone so that the whole human race will always remain in the evolutionary direction of Total Natural Law—the Will of God.”
 

Study of the Constitution of the Universe will be blissful

In response to a press question, Maharishi said that the study of the Constitution of the Universe will be blissful—unlike the stressful task students face in modern education. “The study and experience of the Constitution of the Universe will be in terms of waves of bliss—not in terms of hard work,” Maharishi said. “There will be no stress and no strain. Enlivening all possibilities in the Constitution of the Universe will be a joy from beginning to end.”

Maharishi also said that particular emphasis will be placed on establishing Vedic universities, colleges, and schools in India. “The world needs a strong Vedic India for a strong Vedic world,” Maharishi said. “A strong Vedic world will be a world of Total Knowledge—a world free from mistakes and failures.”

Maharishi concluded by proclaiming a bright future for the world: “We have the knowledge of the Constitution of the Universe, and we are establishing Vedic universities, colleges, and schools everywhere to bring this knowledge to the whole population and fulfil the Vedic aspiration: enlightenment to every individual, invincibility to every nation—and all good to everyone in the light of almighty God,” Maharishi said. “For this we say, ‘All glory to our master, Guru Dev, and the tradition of Vedic masters, and glory to the administrator of this beautiful new world, His Majesty Raja Raam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace.’”

Maharishi Renews Urgent
Appeal to Governments

“Utilize the proven programs to
create invincibility for your nation—
or if you are tired,
then give your office to some dear one”

No military in the world can save the nation

(January 19, 2005) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi this week renewed his urgent appeal to government leaders to adopt his proven technology to create invincibility for their nations—or else be driven from office by the people for the government’s continued failures.

“We have repeatedly invited governments to utilize the knowledge and practical programs of the Unified Field,” Maharishi said. “But if they don’t act, then their parental role will go to some new people because the nation is more important than the individuals.”

“We are talking about a scientific technology
that can make every nation invincible”

Maharishi said all leaders share the same dilemma: they lack the knowledge to prevent problems. “We are offering that new knowledge to every government,” said Maharishi, who emphasized that his words should not be taken as gossip, philosophy, or lofty-sounding principles. “We are talking hard facts about a scientific technology that can prevent problems and make every nation invincible.”

Maharishi’s program to create invincibility for every nation and permanent world peace calls for establishing several groups of 8,000 peace-creating Yogic Flyers throughout the world. “These groups will enliven in world consciousness the Constitution of the Universe—the Unified Field—which administers the infinite diversity of the ever-expanding galactic universe with perfect order. They will create an invincible influence of coherence in world consciousness so that negativity will not arise anywhere in the world,” said Maharishi, who emphasized that even a few governments or a few wealthy well-wishers of peace could easily fund the establishment of the groups.

“The military has the power to die for the nation—
but dying for the nation does not save the nation”

In response to a press question, Maharishi admonished governments and governmental organizations, such as the United Nations, that depend upon the military to secure the safety and security of nations and the world. “Let the world press inform the people: No military in the world can save the nation. The military has the power to die for the nation, but dying for the nation does not save the nation. The whole approach is uncivilized and fraudulent,” Maharishi said.

Government leaders should fulfil their parental role for the people

Maharishi said government leaders should fulfill their parental role for the people and utilize the knowledge of the Constitution of the Universe to prevent problems, fear, disease, and ignorance in the nation. “We are offering every government the knowledge to rise up from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. This knowledge will create a global influence of coherence and harmony so that the mischief-mongers and destructive powers in the world will simply not arise.”

Constitution of the Universe is an all-time reality
that does not depend upon the votes of the people

Maharishi contrasted the Constitution of the Universe, which promotes the evolution of everyone and everything in the ever-expanding galactic universe, with manmade constitutions, which promote chaos and confusion in society. “Everyone knows that the intelligence of a man’s ideas depends upon how alert or drowsy he is. So, even though a manmade constitution may be a well-meaning composition, nevertheless it will have human weaknesses and failings. Manmade constitutions do not compare with the authority of the non-manmade Constitution of the Universe—the will of God—which has no weaknesses in it,” Maharishi said.

Maharishi said knowledge of the Constitution of the Universe is available from the modern physical sciences, the ancient science of consciousness, and the holy texts of every religion. “It is complete, authentic, and proven beyond a doubt. It is an all-time reality that can never be disturbed by anyone or anything—nor does it depend upon the votes of the people,” Maharishi said. “And now, fortunately, we have the knowledge and technology of the Constitution of the Universe to connect the administration of human society with the flawless administration of the universe, and thereby raise every nation to invincibility and create permanent world peace.”

Now is the time to take the knowledge—or leave it

Maharishi concluded by emphasizing strongly that the knowledge is available for leaders to create a bright new world—but they need to act quickly. “Don’t resist it—because if you resist it you are resisting your own success,” Maharishi told the leaders. “Now is the time to make your decision to take the knowledge—or leave it. Take it and enjoy invincibility—or don’t take it and knowingly and willingly surrender yourself to destruction. The choice is yours.”

“Today’s education offers superficial knowledge of life”

(January 26, 2005) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi this week offered government and education leaders his Vedic approach to education to create a problem-free life. Maharishi said his Vedic approach will provide students with the knowledge and experience of the Unified Field to prevent all difficulties, sickness, and suffering—and to easily achieve anything through the power of thought.

Progress of society depends upon education

Maharishi said the progress of society depends upon education—but today’s education lacks depth. “Education offers only superficial, fragmented knowledge of Natural Law—mathematics, economics, engineering. It fails to deliver knowledge of the totality of Natural Law—the Unified Field—which administers the universe with perfect order,” Maharishi said. “That is why there is so much chaos and suffering everywhere in the world.”

Maharishi said the ineffectiveness of modern education can be seen in its results: highly educated people—renowned scientists, educators, business leaders—who are unable to properly manage their own lives. 

Establishing Vedic schools, colleges, and universities worldwide

To make education complete, Maharishi said, Vedic schools, colleges, and universities are now being established throughout the world to offer every student the knowledge and experience of Total Natural Law. “Vedic education takes the student’s attention deep within to fathom the unmanifest source of everything in the universe. It makes every student competent to make use of Total Natural Law in his own self-referral Transcendental Consciousness to easily achieve anything in life,” Maharishi said.

Maharishi described this unmanifest field of totality as being like a treasury hidden in one’s own home. “If we have the knowledge of the treasury, we are rich; if we don’t, we remain poor. Like that, if we know the Unified Field, then we enjoy life; if we don’t know it, then we suffer. It’s just a matter of knowledge,” Maharishi said.

Knowing through being

In response to a press question, Maharishi said that students will never be able to gain the knowledge of totality through the “drama” of modern education—lectures, memorization, examinations, and grades. Instead, students should have one class period a day to experience the Unified Field through the simple, blissful practice of Transcendental Meditation. “Talking about totality will not satisfy the desire for the experience of it—just as talking about water will not satisfy the thirst,” Maharishi said. “First, give the child the taste of water and satisfy his thirst—and then give the intellectual understanding about water. Then your words will be meaningful. That is why the wise say the only way to know something is through experience—‘Knowing through being.’”

Without the experience of the totality, Maharishi emphasized, the knowledge gained during student years will be unproductive. “If you want something, you will have to work hard to get it. But what good is education if you have to struggle? Education should train the student to think from the source of thought—the level of Total Natural Law—so that Natural Law supports his every thought and whatever he thinks will be achieved.”

Everyone can live the divine in his daily life

Maharishi also urged students not to limit their goal in life to merely getting a good job—because such an achievement will be an injustice to man’s unlimited potential. “Life is too precious to be lost in these little achievements because man is made in the image of God—and now it is possible for everyone to live the totality, the divine, in his daily life,” Maharishi said.

“We invite everyone in the world to enjoy this beautiful knowledge”

Maharishi concluded by saying that with the establishment of Vedic universities, colleges, and schools throughout the world, the knowledge and experience of Total Natural Law will be available to the whole population—and world consciousness will be maintained on a high level of coherence and positivity. “Then life on earth will be free from problems, difficulties, inadequacies, and suffering. Everyone will feel buoyant—everyone will enjoy the support of Natural Law and all possibilities in his daily life,” Maharishi said. “With the blessings of the tradition of Vedic masters, we feel proud to offer this beautiful field of knowledge to our dear world family—and we invite everyone to enjoy it.”
