A FEW
THOUSAND STUDENTS
Schools should offer
students “It only takes a small fraction of the population to create a better world—just as it only takes one small light to remove the darkness of an entire hall.” (November 10, 2004) A group of a few thousand students in every country practicing the peace-creating technologies of the Unified Field—total Natural Law—will do what the military and police can never do: create coherent national consciousness, raise the country to invincibility, and safeguard all the people. This was the simple, direct message delivered to heads of state and education ministers by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi during Maharishi’s November 10 global news conference, which was broadcast live on all continents via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland. Coherent collective consciousness will prevent the birth of an enemy “Schools are already providing knowledge to students, so it will be effortless for them to provide the knowledge of total Natural Law—the Constitution of the Universe—which administers the universe with perfect order,” Maharishi said. “By offering total knowledge through one classroom period a day—and training students to utilize total Natural Law within their own self-referral consciousness—every government will ensure that individual and national consciousness will become so coherent, harmonious, and positive that no enemy will ever be born.”
Understanding total Natural Law through the
physical sciences, Maharishi explained that total Natural Law—the field of consciousness—can be understood in terms of the physical sciences, the holy texts of every religion, and the Vedic science of consciousness. “This is the same eternal knowledge that has been available throughout time—and which can now be adopted to create a beautiful, harmonious world today,” Maharishi said. | |

“My offer is for those who want to utilize the knowledge” Maharishi emphasized that his offer is for those who want to utilize the knowledge—and that he is not attempting to convince anyone to adopt it. “Those who are determined to suffer, let them suffer—we don’t waste our time trying to convince them to stop,” said Maharishi, who then added: “And those who are fond of destroying, let them destroy. We appeal to those who have the power to understand. We just need a few thousand people—an insignificant percentage of the population—who want peace, who want bliss, who want harmony. They will take to this knowledge and radiate a peaceful effect in the atmosphere. Then the thinking of the leaders will be more positive and coherent, and the people who are making mistakes in their lives will spontaneously stop making mistakes and get on the right track. But we don’t have to convince anyone. One lamp is good enough to light the entire hall—every inch of the hall doesn’t need to have a lamp to eliminate the darkness.” Maharishi calls on retired people to create world peace In addition to students, Maharishi appealed to retired people to contribute their share in creating world peace. “All the retired people who feel concern about the world should practice Transcendental Meditation. They will enjoy peace within themselves, and they will radiate peace for their children and grandchildren,” Maharishi said.
“Tell the people and governments: Maharishi concluded by calling on the press to take his message to all the people and every government. “The people are used to suffering and difficulties and problems. But the press guides the trends of thought in the world. So the press should give out our message of a problem-free life over and over again to raise the understanding of the people. The press should also proclaim to the governments that the knowledge is available to raise every nation to invincibility—and it is time for them to act on it very quickly,” Maharishi said. “Tell the people and the governments—‘the ball is in their court.’” | |

Students should have
Offers to train professors to enliven the (November 17, 2004) In today’s world of rising misfortune, terror, and suffering, every student should have one class period a day to dive within himself to experience bliss—the Unified Field—and rise to enjoy invincibility in life. And with just a few groups of 8,000 students enlivening the Unified Field, the whole world will be transformed. Every nation will enjoy coherent collective consciousness and rise to invincibility—and the world family will enjoy permanent peace. This was the bold message delivered to the world press by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh during Maharishi’s November 17 global news conference, which was broadcast live on all continents via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland. Parents should ensure that schools offer Transcendental Meditation Maharishi said that schools are now being established in every city to provide students with one class period a day to experience bliss. However, Maharishi said, parents should not to wait for the schools to be built. Instead, parents should work with local educators to ensure that existing schools offer students one period a day to practice Transcendental Meditation. “Call it a ‘period of bliss’ or a ‘period of maximum creativity’ or a ‘period of invincibility’—but every student should have one period a day to develop the Unified Field within his own self-referral consciousness,” Maharishi said. Bringing fulfilment to today’s fragmented education Maharishi said that Transcendental Meditation will bring fulfilment to the fragmented approach of today’s education, which relies on book learning to educate a student. “It is clear that ‘bookish’ knowledge doesn’t do justice to human intelligence, which is divine in its essential nature,” Maharishi said. “Divine intelligence—the Unified Field—administers the universe with perfect order. It cannot be known through books. It can only be known through being—it can only be known by diving within through Transcendental Meditation and experiencing it on its own level in Transcendental Consciousness.” | |

Maharishi announced that he is prepared to quickly train professors in total knowledge of the Unified Field to guide students to enlightenment. “Every professor realizes that whatever he knows, there is still something that he does not know. And what does he not know? That the Unified Field is within everyone—and it can be practically applied through Transcendental Meditation so that the thought, speech, and action of everyone will always be in an evolutionary direction,” Maharishi said. Maharishi’s educational institutions will make students masters of total Natural Law In response to a press question, Maharishi contrasted ordinary colleges and universities with his consciousness-based approach to higher education. “The usual colleges and universities are employment-oriented—they create slaves to some company,” Maharishi said. “Our colleges and universities are enlightenment-oriented—we create masters of Natural Law.” Maharishi said that the success of his approach has been demonstrated by the brilliance of the students at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. “These students are gaining total knowledge, developing their total brain physiology, and rising to enlightenment so they will always be on the golden path of maximum progress and fulfilment in life.” Maharishi acknowledged there was a time when Transcendental Meditation was not known in the world. “But now Transcendental Meditation is widely known and practiced, thoroughly researched, and well established. So now is the time it should be offered to every student to make education complete,” said Maharishi, who added: “Now is also the time to abandon all the incompetent approaches to education that have created so many problems and so much suffering in the world.” “Everyone will always enjoy his own divine nature” Maharishi concluded by declaring that his consciousness-based approach to education is the basis for creating the most ideal system of administration in every nation. “Through proper education, governments will prevent problems instead of fighting to eliminate problems. Through proper education, governments will ensure that any child born in any nation will not be deprived of his cosmic creativity and intelligence. Then everyone in every nation will always live in waves of bliss, peace, and affluence—everyone will always enjoy his own divine nature,” Maharishi said. | |

Maharishi Offers
Provide education to raise students (November 24 , 2004) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh offered this week to heads of state and other leaders of society his practical, proven formula to raise every individual and every nation to invincibility and thus transform today’s problem-ridden world into a harmonious world of peace and affluence for all. Maharishi called on education ministers to introduce one class period a day in Transcendental Meditation so that every student can dive within and experience the Unified Field—total Natural Law—in his own self-referral consciousness. This experience, Maharishi said, will develop the student’s total brain physiology and promote the state of full enlightenment—Unity Consciousness—so that he can fulfill his desires with the support of Natural Law, without struggle or obstacles. Maharishi also called on government leaders to establish a group of a few thousand Yogic Flyers in every country to enliven the Unified Field and create coherent national consciousness—the basis of invincibility for the nation. Invincibility is a level of life beyond disturbances, problems, and difficulties Maharishi described invincibility as a level of life that is beyond disturbances, problems, and difficulties. “Invincibility is the same for the individual and the nation,” Maharishi said. “It is based on the Unified Field—the light of God—which underlies and administers the infinite diversity of the universe with perfect order.” Invincibility is easy to achieve Maharishi said invincibility is easy for any individual or nation to achieve because the Unified Field is the possession of everyone. “The Unified Field is one’s own self-referral consciousness, so it is just a matter of knowing it by being it—through regular practice of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program, including Yogic Flying,” Maharishi said.

Yogic Flying demonstrates command over the force of gravity Maharishi described an invincible individual as one who can fulfil all his desires without struggle or obstacles. “When one thinks from the Unified Field—the self-referral level of consciousness—then all thoughts are fulfilled because on that unbounded level of intelligence there is nothing that can obstruct his desires,” said Maharishi, who cited Yogic Flying as an example. “You think a thought from the Unified Field for the body to lift up, and the thought gets materialized, and instantly the body is up in the air. This demonstrates, to whatever little extent the body is in the air, command over the force of gravity—the Unified Field. With practice, the Unified Field grows in human awareness, which means that invincibility grows in the daily life of the individual.” Maharishi added that with just few groups of 8,000 individuals practicing Yogic Flying and enlivening the Unified Field in world consciousness, invincibility will grow to become a living reality for everyone in the whole world family. “The experience of Unity Consciousness is like an oasis in the desert” In response to a press question, Maharishi described life without Unity Consciousness—the supreme state of human development—as a desert. “But the experience of Unity Consciousness is like coming upon an oasis in the desert,” Maharishi said. “That is why we are establishing schools, colleges, and universities to provide students with the knowledge and experience of the Unified Field. Then every student will rise sequentially from waking state of consciousness to Cosmic Consciousness, to God Consciousness, and finally to Unity Consciousness, where he will enjoy life in supreme fulfilment.”
The whole
world will live in waves of bliss Maharishi concluded by saying that the need for such a consciousness-based approach to education is urgent because the whole world’s population is being poisoned by modern life—by a lifetime of allopathic medicines with hazardous side effects, and by poisons in the food, water, and air. “These poisons create weaknesses in the people that prevent them from understanding this knowledge about the Unified Field—their own self-referral consciousness—and prevent them from taking action to rise to Unity Consciousness,” said Maharishi, who then reassured the press: “But it doesn’t matter, because change must come—and we are bringing about this change to raise every individual and every nation to invincibility. Soon there will be no more problems and suffering—and the whole world will live in waves of bliss in the gracious light of God, now and for all generations to come.” | |

Maharishi Urges Governments:
Advises Students: (December 1, 2004) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh urged government leaders to utilize today the knowledge of the Unified Field to create satisfied, spontaneously law-abiding citizens—instead of punishing them for their wrongdoings. Otherwise, Maharishi warned, the governments will be put out of office tomorrow by the upsurge of total Natural Law, the light of God, in world consciousness. At the same time, Maharishi advised students who are seeking a practical way to create world peace to begin immediately the practice of Transcendental Meditation and experience bliss and satisfaction within the Unified Field—within their own self-referral field of consciousness. This is the only way, Maharishi said, to create coherent, harmonious world consciousness—the basis of permanent world peace. Government is significant only if it can prevent problems Maharishi said that a government is significant only if it is capable of creating fulfilled individuals and preventing problems. “A government should educate a man to be fulfilled because an unfulfilled man will always violate Natural Law—he will always do wrong things, which damage himself, his society, his nation, and the world,” Maharishi said. “If a government fails to properly educate a man to live in accord with Natural Law and instead punishes him when he does wrong, then that government is a fraud.”

“I am full of hope that governments will respond to our offer” Maharishi said that he established a new global administration—the Global Country of World Peace—to offer to governments the total knowledge of the Unified Field so that every government can be successful and fulfill its parental role: to prevent problems for the people. “I am full of hope that governments will respond to our offer and utilize our programs to enliven the Unified Field—the Constitution of the Universe—in national consciousness. Then the Unified Field will quietly govern the nation with the same effectiveness and efficiency as it governs the infinite diversity of the ever-expanding galactic universe with perfect order,” Maharishi said. Students can perpetuate peace from within themselves In response to a press question about the role of students in creating peace, Maharishi urged students to “plunge” into the practice of Transcendental Meditation. “Spend an hour in the morning and afternoon in the experience of the field of peace—the Unified Field,” Maharishi said. “You will be able to perpetuate peace from within yourself and gain mastery over Natural Law so that you are never a slave to situations or circumstances.” Otherwise, Maharishi warned the students, their governments will send them off to fight an enemy in another country. “You will be paid to die in the name of patriotism,” Maharishi said. Maharishi’s global peace program is practical and proven—not mysticism Maharishi emphasized that his global peace program is practical and proven—not mysticism—and that it cannot be accomplished through talking or lecturing. “It will only be achieved by quietly diving within oneself—into the bliss of the Unified Field,” Maharishi said. Maharishi then explained: “It does not matter what words are used to express the ultimate reality—whether you call it the ‘Unified Field’ from the physical sciences, or ‘the light of God’ from the holy texts of every religion, or ‘self-referral consciousness’ from the science of consciousness. It does not matter what words are used because the content is the same.” “It is time for governments to act—it is now or never” Maharishi concluded by saying that in order to be successful, government leaders must realize they need to know something that they do not yet know. “Government leaders need to know the total knowledge of the Unified Field,” Maharishi said. “Now, with the blessings of the tradition of Vedic masters, this knowledge is easily available in the self-referral consciousness of everyone. So government leaders, educators, and parents should ensure that all the people, including the children, gain this knowledge.” Maharishi then issued an urgent call to action: “We have been saying the same thing for the past 50 years—and now our time for speaking is running out. It is time for governments to act—it is now or never.” | |
