Maharishi Announces Peace Plan for 108 Countries to End Global Conflict and War

One billion dollar endowment fund for world peace

Maharishi praised the efforts of Dr. John Hagelin, President of the US Peace Government, to establish a   $1 billion endowment fund to establish a Maharishi University of World Peace and employ a group of 8,000 peace-creating experts in the United States—a “shortcut” to creating world peace. Only the investment income of the $1 billion endowment will be used for peace projects; the principal will always remain as a permanent financial basis for world peace. “Eight thousand people enlivening the Constitution of the Universe within their own self-referral Transcendental Consciousness is good enough to maintain coherence in world consciousness, in the same way that one sun is good enough to provide light for the whole solar system,” Maharishi said.

Maharishi Universities of World Peace to offer the knowledge of total Natural Law

Maharishi’s peace plan also calls for the establishment in 108 countries of a University of World Peace to train a new generation of leadership for his Peace Governments on every level of administration—national, state, and city. The Universities will also provide the whole population with the prevention-oriented knowledge and technologies of total Natural Law—the Constitution of the Universe. Faculty in eight departments will offer comprehensive courses in:

• EDUCATION—Consciousness-Based Education to develop the total brain potential of every student so that every student enjoys a mistake-free life supported by the evolutionary power of Natural Law

• HEALTH—Consciousness-Based, Prevention-Oriented Health Care, free from harmful side effects, to prevent and cure disease

• ECONOMICS—The Poverty Removal Program, which includes the Global Development Currency—the Raam—to develop unused fertile agricultural land for profitable export of organic food

• POLITICAL SCIENCE—Supreme Political Science for every level of government—national, state, and city—to create prevention-oriented, problem-free administration through the Constitution of the Universe

• ADMINISTRATION—Administration through Natural Law to bring the support of the managing intelligence of Nature to create unrestricted prosperity and progress for every government, business, and organization

• DEFENCE—Invincible Defence Strategy to prevent the birth of an enemy through large groups of peace-creating experts

• AGRICULTURE—Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture to enliven the inner intelligence of plants through Vedic sounds for healthy, nutritious food

Maharishi concluded by reassuring the press that the darkness of the past will soon be forgotten because a new dawn of enlightenment is rising in the world—aided by modern technology. “We live in an age of instant communication where, from one place on earth, we can reach the whole world with the knowledge of the Constitution of the Universe. This is how we will ensure that every individual born on earth quickly enjoys his birthright—a life of peace, prosperity, and happiness—now and in the future,” Maharishi said.

Peace Governments will create invincibility for every government and perfection for every individual

New world of affluence and peace will be based on total Natural Law— the inner reality of everyone’s life

“It doesn’t matter how long the world has been in darkness.
Now is the time for the dawn.”

(November 18, 2003) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi proclaimed the readiness of his Peace Governments in 108 countries to create invincibility for every nation and perfection for every individual through the knowledge of total Natural Law—the light of God—which administers the universe with perfect order.  The result will be an immediate end to mankind’s deplorable legacy of suffering and war.

Maharishi said that the key to this global transformation is a new scientific approach to education— Vedic education—which enlivens total Natural Law within the consciousness of everyone. “From both modern science and ancient Vedic science we now have the knowledge to create perfection in life,” Maharishi said. “We fondly invite everyone to use this knowledge right away—before it is too late—to create a new world of affluence and peace. It doesn’t matter how long the world has been in darkness because now is the time for the dawn.”

Maharishi’s announcements came during his global news conference on Wednesday, November 12, which was broadcast live via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland.

Peace Governments to raise existing governments to invincibility

Maharishi said that Peace Governments have the expertise to create a stable, invincible administration in every nation—without requiring the active participation of the existing government. “The head of state only has to invite us and we will do the rest. We will engage total Natural Law—the Constitution of the Universe—to raise the government to invincibility. We will create a national consciousness that is so harmonious, so coherent, so positive, and so friendly that negative trends will simply not arise,” Maharishi said.

Groups of Yogic Flyers will create coherent collective consciousness

To create invincible administration, the Peace Governments are establishing in every country groups of a few thousand Yogic Flyers who will enliven coherence in collective consciousness and prevent any harm from coming to anyone in the nation. Maharishi cited the Meissner Effect of physics to explain the phenomenon. The Meissner Effect is a scientific principle that states that internally coherent systems are able to repel external disruptive influences, while incoherent systems are easily penetrated by disorder from outside.   

Students will learn to engage total Natural Law to work for them

In addition to establishing groups of Yogic Flyers, the Peace Governments are offering the Vedic approach to education to schools, colleges, and universities in every country. The approach calls for adding one classroom period a day for the study and experience of consciousness, including the practice of Transcendental Meditation. Students will develop their total brain potential and learn how to engage total Natural Law to work for them to fulfill their desires. Their daily practice of Transcendental Meditation will promote coherent national consciousness—the basis of prevention-oriented, problem-free administration.

 “Water the root to enjoy the fruit”

Maharishi said that the Peace Governments will create a world without problems—without becoming involved in the administration of any nation. “Our slogan is, ‘Water the root to enjoy the fruit.’ We handle the Unified Field of Natural Law—the unmanifest field that is beyond space and time—in order to properly handle the expressed fields of life and promote behavior that is healthy, wealthy, and wise,” Maharishi said.

Everyone can enjoy perfection in life—if they make the choice

Maharishi emphasized that everyone can enjoy perfection in life—if they make the choice. “A house may be wired for electricity, but it is a man’s choice whether or not he presses the button to be in light. We are offering the knowledge of perfection. But it is up to the people whether they take it today—or wait until tomorrow. But everyone is destined to take it because everyone is drawn to something beautiful, harmonious, and blissful—everyone is drawn to the light of God within themselves.”

An invitation to help establish the Peace Governments

Maharishi concluded with an invitation. “We welcome everyone to participate in any way they can to establish the Peace Government in their country. Let’s bless every individual with perfection and every government with invincibility so that no one in our dear world has to suffer or face problems—now or in the future,” Maharishi said.

$1 billion endowment needed
to create permanent world peace

(November 25, 2003) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi proclaimed anew the offer of his Peace Governments to prevent all problems and negative trends in every nation through the complete knowledge of the Unified Field of Natural Law, which administers the infinite diversity of the universe with perfect order.

And, Maharishi declared, all that is required to transform today’s problem-ridden world into a new world of prosperity and peace is the funds to establish a few groups of 8,000 Yogic Flyers who will engage the Unified Field—the field of peace within the Self of everyone—to create coherent world consciousness. “Then no negativity will arise anywhere in the world, and the activity of all the people will be supported by the infinite evolutionary power of total Natural Law,” Maharishi said.

$1 billion endowment fund will sustain the groups on a permanent basis

Dr. John Hagelin, world-renowned quantum physicist and President of the US Peace Government, announced that a $1 billion endowment fund is being raised to sustain the peace-creating groups on a permanent basis—a small fraction of the $500 billion the U.S. spends each year on weapons and defense. Dr. Hagelin said that only the investment income of the endowment fund will be used for the peace projects; the principal will always remain as a permanent basis for world peace. Dr. Hagelin is also Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace.

World peace is everyone’s responsibility

Maharishi said that everyone should contribute whatever they can to create world peace as soon as possible. “World peace is everyone’s responsibility,” Maharishi said. “The wealthy can employ the poor to participate in these peace-creating groups. The wealthy can also participate in these groups themselves to rise to higher states of consciousness and create coherence for the world. But everyone should do their share.”

It is time to produce the peaceful effect

Maharishi said that all the details of the peace plan are in place, so it is no longer necessary to talk about peace—instead, it is time to produce the effect. “It is like having a lamp with a wick and oil and a box of matches. It is just a matter of lighting the lamp. In the same way, the knowledge and technologies of total Natural Law are available to create peace. Now it is just a matter of producing the effect,” Maharishi said.

Peace Governments to raise every nation
to true sovereignty and invincibility

Maharishi said that Peace Governments in 108 countries are leading the global undertaking to establish the groups of Yogic Flyers. “Our offer of invincibility to every nation today is the same as our offer has been to every individual during the past 50 years,” Maharishi said. “Invincibility means peace, prosperity, and a long, healthy life without mistakes or problems.”

Maharishi also cited the urgent need for the Yogic Flying groups to create true sovereignty. “No nation is sovereign today,” Maharishi said. “Every nation is a begging bowl to some other country for food, medicine, education, defense. But Peace Governments will make every nation self-sufficient by making every government capable of engaging the total creative potential of Natural Law to work for the nation.” Maharishi then emphasized, “This is not an imagination—this has been authenticated by both modern science and ancient Vedic science.”

Maharishi said the groups can be established in any nation—whether the cost of living is high or low. “There are enough peace-loving people and enough money in the world to establish the groups in any country,” Maharishi said.

Everyone has a choice:
Live in the light of peace or remain in darkness

Maharishi concluded by emphasizing the urgency of the undertaking. “No one knows what news may come in the future,” Maharishi said. “So anything that can be done tomorrow should be done today—and anything that can be done today should be done now. Every individual and every government has a clear choice: Live a long healthy life in the light of peace—or remain in darkness. But whether they take the knowledge today or tomorrow, everyone is destined to take it because no one wants to suffer in life.”
