PROVIDE
ALL KNOWLEDGE IN
ONE BRAIN—NOT IN ONE CAMPUS
Compartmentalization of
modern education
damages the dignity of human life
Rebuild schools in harmony
with Natural Law
to promote the health and success of
everyone

(June 3, 2003) Modern education’s emphasis
on compartmentalization of knowledge—medicine, agriculture, engineering,
art, etc.—promotes only partial functioning of the brain and damages the
dignity of human life. Only consciousness-based education, which awakens
within every student his own cosmic creative intelligence, can deliver
the goal of education—all knowledge in one brain instead of all
knowledge in one campus. Such education will develop the total brain
physiology of every student and transform society as a whole.
This was the
profound message delivered to educators by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi during his weekly global news conference held on Wednesday, May 28,
and broadcast live via satellite, Internet webcast, and teleconference
call. Maharishi’s next news conferences will be held on June 4 and 5.
Bankruptcy of intelligence guides education
Maharishi
condemned the “bankruptcy of intelligence” that has guided education for
centuries, and said that today’s education, which produces a doctor, a
farmer, an engineer, or a professor without developing his total
intelligence undermines the purpose of education.
“When a
student comes to a professor to learn, the professor should first say,
‘I will give the knowledge and experience of consciousness, so that you
will succeed in whatever profession you pursue,’” Maharishi said.

Maharishi Universities of World Peace to graduate
enlightened individuals
Maharishi
said that his Universities of World Peace will teach economics,
politics, engineering, science, and art. At the same time, students will
develop higher states of consciousness and will graduate with total
Natural Law lively in their awareness.
“The purpose
of education is to develop intelligence,” Maharishi said. “Why should a
student remain satisfied with only partial intelligence when he can
develop his total intelligence in Transcendental Consciousness through
Transcendental Meditation? Why not grab the whole thing in one stroke?”
Three
thousand Maharishi Universities of World Peace are now being established
along with 3,000 Peace Palaces in the world’s largest 3,000 cities.
One classroom period a day for Transcendental Meditation
Maharishi
also called on government leaders in every nation to add to the
curriculum of their schools, colleges, and universities one classroom
period a day for Transcendental Meditation. “This is the simple formula
to develop the total brain physiology and cosmic creative intelligence
of every student and to promote coherent national consciousness and a
peaceful world,” Maharishi said.
Promoting health, happiness, and success through Vedic
architecture
In addition,
Maharishi emphasized the importance of the design and construction of
buildings, including universities and schools, for promoting an
individual’s health, happiness, and success. Maharishi said that
considerable negativity, sickness, and suffering are due to the improper
design and orientation of buildings and communities. Maharishi called
for widespread national reconstruction according to Vedic architecture
in harmony with Natural Law “to reconnect the individual citizen with
his cosmic potential and to prevent problems.”
Vedic science offers a huge possibility for human life
“Vedic science offers a huge possibility
for every individual to rise to higher states of consciousness and enjoy
his own cosmic potential,” Maharishi said. “This is all that is needed
to create a society that everyone would love—a civilized society. It is
time for every individual to wake up to total Natural Law—the light of
God—which is always evolutionary for everyone—and to no longer remain in
a beastly, bloody field of ignorance.” |

Rise up to
condemn the irresponsibility of governments
“People should not be guided
by ignorant
leaders who rule by military and police”
Establish peace-creating
groups in every country
and add one classroom period a day in every school for
Transcendental Meditation to create a
civilized world
Live Internet webcast at
www.globalcountry.org
(June 10, 2003) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi issued a strong warning to heads of state and cabinet ministers:
utilize proven programs to prevent problems and end the suffering of
your citizens—or opposition parties in your countries will take you to
court for criminal offenses and put you out of office. And Maharishi
called on the media to hold accountable those in power who perpetuate
problems and suffering.
“The role of the
press is to awaken the people,” Maharishi said. “It is not enough for
the media to simply report that there are problems in the country—they
should rise up to condemn the irresponsibility of those at the helm of
the nation. If the media only says ‘Yes’ to whatever the government
says, then who will awaken the population?”
Maharishi’s
comments came during his 50th consecutive global news conference held on
Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the Capital of the Global Country of World
Peace in Meru, Holland. Maharishi’s next news conferences will be June
11 and 12 and will be broadcast live via satellite, Internet webcast,
and teleconference call.
Education minister should be punished if a man commits a crime
Maharishi cited
education as an example of the need to hold leaders accountable.
“Education today is appalling—it is a crime against the cosmic nature of
human life. It does not educate the individual to develop his full
creative potential and to not make mistakes. So who should be punished
if a man commits a crime? The education minister should be punished for
not training the man to engage the evolutionary power of total Natural
Law to fulfill his desires,” Maharishi said. “Leaders should fulfill
their responsibilities or abdicate their office—or they will be forced
out by the opposition parties. It is not good for millions of people to
be guided by ignorant leaders who rule through military and police. The
time of barbarism is coming to an end.”
|
 |
Media should stand for truth
Maharishi had
equally strong words for the press. “The media should stand for truth.
The truth is that people are suffering because of the government. If the
media is quiet and only favors what the government says, then the media
is wasting the precious life of the people. Who will carry the
responsibility for that waste of life? The media will carry a lot of the
responsibility.”
Maharishi’s program to create permanent world peace
Maharishi then
presented his scientifically proven program to create permanent world
peace, which includes:
-
Groups of peace-creating experts—Establishing groups of 8,000
peace-creating experts in every continent—with a larger group of
40,000 experts in India. Building 3,000 Peace Palaces in the world’s
largest 3,000 cities—each Peace Palace to be home to a smaller group
of 100 to 200 peace-creating experts. These experts will practice
Maharishi’s Vedic technologies of consciousness, including
Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying, to enliven in world
consciousness total Natural Law—the light of God—the basis of a
peaceful, prosperous family of nations.
-
Transcendental Meditation in education—Adding one classroom period
a day in the schools, colleges, and universities in every country for
the study of consciousness and the practice of Transcendental
Meditation. Students will develop their total brain physiology and
cosmic creative intelligence and promote coherent national
consciousness—the basis of prevention-oriented, problem-free
administration.
“Human life is divine—
it does not deserve to be shadowed by any limitation”
Maharishi emphasized that the knowledge is now
available to create a better world—however it is up to governments and
the people to take advantage of it. “Man has freedom of choice. This
supreme knowledge is now available for everyone to develop their cosmic
potential—yet other choices are available as well. But why not go for
the top choice and choose the light of life—the light of God?” Maharishi
said. “Human life is divine—it does not deserve to be shadowed by any
limitation. Let’s make hay while the sun shines—let’s make liberal use
of this knowledge while it is fresh to transform our barbaric world into
a harmonious civilization of peace and bliss.” |

Only Vedic
defense can create permanent peace
Today’s military has the
power to kill and die—
but not to save the nation
Creating coherent national
consciousness
will prevent the birth of an enemy
Live Internet webcast at
www.globalcountry.org
(June 17, 2003) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi dismissed as a false hope and a total failure the capability of
today’s military to safeguard a nation from deadly attack or to promote
lasting peace anywhere in the world. The only solution, Maharishi said,
is a prevention-oriented approach to defense—Vedic defense—which has
been proven repeatedly to create coherent national consciousness and to
prevent negativity from arising anywhere in the world.
“The military has
the power to kill and die—but not to save the nation,” Maharishi said.
“Only Vedic defense can save a nation because only Vedic defense can
prevent the birth of an enemy.”
Maharishi’s
declaration came during his weekly global news conference held on
Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the Capital of the Global Country of World
Peace in Meru, Holland. Maharishi’s next news conferences will be June
18 and 19 and broadcast live via satellite, Internet webcast, and
teleconference call.
The most intelligent military can destroy the enmity within the
enemy
Maharishi
explained the logic of prevention. “When an enemy invades a country, the
military tries to stop the attack at the border. A more intelligent
military can prevent the enemy from attacking 50 kilometers—or even 500
kilometers—before the border,” Maharishi said. “But the most intelligent
military can destroy the enmity within the enemy before it even thinks
of invading the country. This is Vedic defense, which will not allow an
enemy to be born.”
Coherent national consciousness is key to effective defense
Maharishi said
that the key to such effective defense is coherent national
consciousness. And he cited the “Meissner Effect” in modern physics,
which reveals that internally coherent systems are able to repel
external influences while incoherent systems are easily penetrated by
disorder from outside. “Coherent national consciousness alone can
prevent outside negative influences from disturbing the internal harmony
of a country,” Maharishi said.
For that,
Maharishi has called on governments and philanthropic well-wishers of
peace to establish groups of peace-creating experts in every country.
“Through their daily performance of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic
Flying, these groups will enliven total Natural Law—which administers
the infinite diversity of the universe with perfect order—to create an
intensely integrated, harmonious national and world consciousness. Then
no nation will ever have to face an enemy.”
|
|
Killing is always a sin
Maharishi also
denounced as a sin the military strategy of killing the enemy. “Every
religious text says that killing is always a sin. But an even bigger sin
is for a government to maintain a military that is dedicated to killing
and dying for the nation,” Maharishi said. “The government gives a man
money and food today because tomorrow he will be asked to give his life
for the nation. You feed a goat today because you plan to destroy it
tomorrow. It’s hideous, inhuman, and barbaric. Even though great poems
have been sung in praise of the brave, the whole approach is false and
ignorant and has to be amended.”
It is time for better government
Maharishi said
that it is time for better governments to administer nations—and for
that, better education is needed. “Governments are problem-ridden
because of incomplete, fragmented, and pitiable education,” Maharishi
said. “Better education—consciousness-based education—will create a
better government. It will train students to use their full brain and to
enliven the cosmic intelligence of total Natural Law in their every
thought, speech, and action. They will think cosmically, behave
cosmically, and spontaneously ‘Help thy neighbor.’ They will promote
coherent national consciousness, which will prevent negativity from
arising anywhere in the country.”
One sunrise eliminates the darkness of the night
Maharishi’s Vedic
approach to defense calls for (1) one classroom period a day for
consciousness-based education in the schools, colleges, and universities
of every nation; (2) 3,000 Peace Palaces in the world’s largest 3,000
cities—each Peace Palace to be home to a group of 100 to 200
peace-creating experts; and (3) one group of 8,000 peace-creating
experts on every continent, including a larger group of 40,000 experts
in India.
Maharishi said that the peace-creating
influence of Vedic defense will be global and immediate. “Just as one
sunrise eliminates the darkness of everything in the night, the Vedic
approach to defense will eliminate all negativity and conflict—and
create a new world of harmony and peace,” Maharishi said. “The knowledge
is practical and proven—and it is available for every individual and
every government. Now it is just a matter of putting it to use.”

Transcendental Meditation can create a peaceful world and a beautiful
civilization
New U.S.
Peace Government
is the only hope for America
Live Internet webcast at
www.globalcountry.org
(June 24, 2003) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi delivered a bold
message of hope to today’s problem-ridden world, heralding a bright new
future for all mankind. The future is bright, Maharishi declared,
because the innermost nature of everyone’s life is a field of all
possibilities, harmony, and bliss. And every individual and every
government can now enliven this transcendental field through
Transcendental Meditation to create a peaceful world today—and a
beautiful civilization for thousands of years to come.
Maharishi’s
pronouncement came on Wednesday, June 18, 2003—the one-year anniversary
of his historic weekly global news conferences. For 52 consecutive weeks
Maharishi has addressed world leaders and answered questions from the
international press via satellite, Internet webcast, and teleconference
call. Maharishi’s next news conferences will be held on June 25 and 26.
Maharishi’s formula to create permanent world peace
Maharishi
emphasized that his promise of a better world is based on more than 600
scientific studies on the benefits of Transcendental Meditation for the
individual and society. Maharishi also presented his formula to create
coherent world consciousness—the basis of permanent world peace:
- one
classroom period a day for Transcendental Meditation in all schools,
colleges, and universities to develop the total brain physiology and
full creative potential of every student—and to create coherent
national consciousness in every country;
- groups
of 8,000 peace-creating experts practicing Transcendental Meditation
and Yogic Flying on every continent, including a larger group of
40,000 experts in India, to create coherent world consciousness; and
- 3,000
Peace Palaces in the world’s largest 3,000 cities—each Peace Palace
with a group of 100 to 200 experts—to bring relief to the stressed
population of every city and create coherent collective consciousness.

“I am ashamed of the world”
In response to a
reporter’s question about the current state of world affairs, Maharishi
offered a frank assessment: “I am ashamed of the world. It is bloody,
beastly, and barbaric—it is like animals without intelligence.”
Maharishi also marvelled at the hypocrisy of U.S. President George Bush
who ignored a near-unanimous consensus of world opinion against his
invasion of Iraq, but who is now pushing democracy in developing
nations. “America should be ashamed of its president,” Maharishi said.
“He is ready to disrupt or destroy the administration of any country he
chooses.”
U.S. Peace Government is the only hope for America
Maharishi said
that the only hope to save the dignity of America is the second,
“complementary” government—the U.S. Peace Government—now being
established by Dr. John Hagelin. Dr. Hagelin is a world-renowned
physicist, presidential candidate of the Natural Law Party in 2000, and
Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace.
“The U.S. Peace
Government is like the rising sun that dispels the darkness of the
night,” Maharishi said. “This second government is, in reality, the
first, eternal government of Natural Law—the light of God—which governs
the infinite diversity of the universe with perfect order. It will have
a parental role in the nation. It will engage total Natural Law in
national consciousness and raise the existing government to be on a par
with the government of the universe. It will achieve
prevention-oriented, problem-free administration in every country—the
basis of a perfect civilization.”
Launch of the U.S.
Peace Government:
News conference in Washington, D.C., on July 2
Dr. Hagelin will launch the new U.S. Peace
Government during an international news conference on Wednesday, July 2,
10 a.m. (EDT) at the historic Hay-Adams Hotel, one block from the White
House in Washington, D.C. The news conference will be held one hour
prior to Maharishi’s weekly global news conference on July 2 at 11 a.m.
(EDT)—and will also be broadcast live via satellite, Internet webcast,
and teleconference call. (Full article
will appear in the next issue) |
